THE TIC CHAIRMAN OF JOS EAST LGC HON MARKUS USEINI NYAM, MANAGEMENT STAFF AND FRIENDS GAVE  A FAREWELL RECEPTION IN HONOUR OF RETIRING DPM MR YAKUBU BEREH HELD AT LANGFIELDS HOTEL LAMINGO.

LG staff have been challenged to renew their interests and commitment to understanding the challenges facing the LG system in order to ensure effective implementation of government policies and progs.

The TIC Chairman of Jos East LGC Hon Markus Useini Nyam gave this advice  during a farewell reception in honour of retiring DPM Mr Yakubu Bereh held at Langfields Hotel Lamingo.

The chairman noted that  LG staff were strategic and key to sustaining development especially in the rural areas. 

Hon Markus described  Mr Bereh as an astute manager with sound knowledge and ideas that he deplored to drive the policies and progs of Jos East LGC.

He congratulated him for attaining 60 years with good health. He urged him to see retirement as another phase in his life and therefore should make the best of his post service life.

During the reception there were good will messages from the council Directors,Zonal inspector LG and  NULGE

Responding,Mr Yakubu Bereh was elated and expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to the chairman  and colleagues,he had worked with especially the present TIC Chairman,Hon Markus Usaini Nyam saying the council took him by surprise to celebrate him  on the attainment

NEWS FROM JOS EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL

Stakeholders in Jos East Local Government Area have resolved to adopt new approach to the security architecture in order to combat the insessant banditry and kidnap in the locality.


Arising from an enlarged Security meeting at Angware, the Council's headquarters, recently,the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman, Hon Markus Useini Nyam Stressed that Jos East which is known for its peaceful nature has over night turned out to witness kidnapping at a rampage and expressed sadness over the ugly situation.

The Chief Security Officer, pointed out that the Stakeholders ranging from Traditional rulers, Police, Civil Defence, Operation safe haven, Hunters and Vigelante, presidents of Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association and Youth representative as well as Religious leaders among others are baffled by the insessant kidnapping and other crimes in the locality, hence the meeting agreed that illegal mining activities which drew strangers from different backgrounds are highly suspicious and must stop forthwith in other to put on check, criminal activities.

The Paramount Ruler of Afizere Nation, Rev. Dr. Isaac Azi Wakili, in a statement, condemned in strong terms the sudden breach in Security in the area and called on both conventional and nonconventional Security outfits to adopt new approach through their professional skills in fishing out the parpetrators of such heyinious crimes in their hide outs, while pledging the Traditional Council's quest to play their fatherly role and maximum support to achieve the feat.



In their separate remarks, Presidents, Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association, Engineer Yakubu Ashoms and that of AfIzere Youth Movement, Luka Azi Itse both opined that cases of kidnapping and other unwholesome crimes which have continued unabated are source of concern to them and called on Government at all levels to come to the aide of innocent people of Jos East by beefing out more security network to bring an end to the dastardly act.

On their part, Religious heads of CAN and JNI, Reverend Father Emmanuel Yongten and Mallam Ibrahim Abdu respectively said all hands must be on deck in cubbing youth restiveness, adding that clergies have also had their share as regards to kidnapping in Jos East but have the conviction that with prayers and supplication, God would intervene in a special way.

The National Assembly Election Petition tribunal sitting in Jos has nullified the election Sen Bali of the Southern Senatorial constituency

The tribunal today declared the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Barr Simon Bako Lalong as the winner having come second in the election.

Fundamentally the election was nullified because PDP refused to respect the order of aJos High court.

The tribunal today declared the candidate of the Labour party as the winner having come second in the election.
