The Director of Personnel Management for Jos East Local Government Council, Zion Chirtau, has extends his heartfelt appreciation to the National Association of Government Information Officers for the recent award presented to him.

In a statement, Chirtau expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the significance of the recognition in acknowledging dedicated service to humanity. He committed to continuing his efforts to serve the community to the best of his ability, ensuring that the needs of the citizens remain a top priority.


Chirtau dedicated the award to God Almighty, acknowledging that his achievements are a reflection of divine guidance and support and promise to strive to uphold the values of service and integrity in his role.
Earlier in her speech the National President of Government information officers in Nigeria Comrade Alice Bature said that the association is an umbrella body that house all information officers in Nigeria, it has the pivotal role of monitoring the activities of the 774 local government councils in the country and to recognise and reward outstanding and performing Directors who are the supporting pillars to their chairman to deliver the dividend of democracy to their people.
High point of the event is the presentation of the award to the director.

Jos East Local Government Council's Acting Chairman, Zion Chirtu, has reaffirmed the council's determination and commitment towards the success of the forthcoming Local Government elections. Chirtu made this commitment during the inauguration of the Council's Advisory  and consultative Committee on Election held at the council secretariat in Angware. Represented  by  the Director of Social Services, David Mancha.


The Acting Chairman underscored the significance of a  free and fair election. Chirtu praised Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) Chairman, Daniel Chishak, and his team for their efforts  in bringing innovation and new ideas into election management. He commended Chishak’s vision in establishing the security committee to bolster election integrity and security.

Chirtu urged residents to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the election period and highlighted the importance of collective effort in achieving a peaceful and successful electoral process.

In his response, PLASIEC Chairman Daniel Chishak expressed appreciation for the support from Jos East Council Boss and and the committee,explaining that the success of the elections depends on the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders.

 Responding on behalf of the committee, the Divisional Police Officer of the Area, thanked the PLASIEC chairman for the appointment and called on residents to provide information to facilitate a free and fair election.
