The wife of the Executive Chairman of Jos East Local Government Council, Mrs. Comfort Nyam, has congratulated children in commemoration of the 2025 International Children's Day.

 The Jos East First Lady made the commendation during a colorful event at the Council Secretariat, Angware, which coincided with her birthday. She expressed delight to the education subsector, parents, the federal and state governments, and the local government council for investing in children's upbringing, education, and moral development.


Mrs. Comfort appreciated God for being faithful to her over the years and seized the opportunity to celebrate another milestone in her life. She thanked her husband and children, as well as all those who celebrated with her.

The Executive Chairman of the Council, Chief Markus Usaini Nyam, congratulated the children on their special day and his wife Comfort, on her birthday. He pledged the council's commitment to expanding the scope of Children's Day celebrations in the future as part of his administration's priorities.

The representative of the children, who presented a speech, thanked the government for setting aside a day to commemorate children's resilience. She also appreciated the wife of the Chairman for organizing the event alongside her birthday celebration. She called on parents and all other leaders to improve children's welfare and security.

Other dignitaries who spoke at the event included representatives of women, youths, the Traditional Council, and the education subsector. They all congratulated the children on their special day and the wife of the Chairman on her birthday.

PRESS RELEASE FROM JOS EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL



Youths have been described as the most vulnerable and vanguards of the Society.

Executive chairman of Jos East Local Government Council, Chief Markus USaini Nyam, dropped the hint while playing host to a delegation from the Plateau Peace Youth Network (PPYN) in his Office, at Angware, recently.

Nyam who was elated with the wisdom and vision of the Youth body for coming up with the Peace and skills initiative as well as the honour done to him and his deputy to serve as  the body's grand Patrons ,pledged their resolved  to leave above board in contributing to the realization of the target goal.


Nyam commended the resilience of the PPYN in keying into the labor market by reducing unemployment among the Youths through skills acquisition in different fields.

The chairman promised to Collaborate with the PPYN to bring Development to the Communities and to promote peace aimed at reducing Youth restiveness in the Society.

Earlier on, the leader of the delegation, Emmanuel Ajik said the PPYN is touring the 17 Local Government Councils in Plateau State to inaugurate the Chairmen their Deputies as the body's grand patrons.


He unveiled that PPYN is a non Governmental Organisation aimed at  Peace building and developing Youths in different fields of Digital innovation, Catering and Tailoring among others as self sponsored by the PPYN, while soliciting  for partnership with the 17 Local Government Councils to guarantee peace and reduce unemployment.

The event climax with the inauguration of the chairman and his Deputy as grand patrons of PPYN.

JOS EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL NEWS 30/04/2025



The Executive Chairman ,Jos East Local Government Council.Hon.Markus Usaini Nyam has  gaven kudos to the Executive Governor of Plateau State,.Bar.Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for paying counterpart fund to access intervention of road  projects from World Bank and other supportive bodies.


Nyam gave the pass mark, recently, during an inspection tour of  the projects across Jos East Local Government area as executed by the Council and that of the Plateau State Government since assumption of office.

The Jos East helmsman said he is keying into the philosophy of the Mutfwang administration in the area of learning facilities, primary Health Care, ,Electrification projects and construction of open market


The Chairman, While pointing out that the projects will soon be commission, commended the efforts of the contractors and tasked them to finish the work on scheduled.


Responding seperately, ,the Contractors Engr Douglas Zingfa,  Eng.Sunday Yakubu, and
 Engr Izam Mathew respectively, promised to deliver the work within the stipulated time and also thanked the Chairman for providing funds promptly which aided them to achieve the feat.

Yakubu Danladi Ajang who spoke on behalf of  Ferum Community and Mr.Elisha Itse Izam  of Sabon Gari community did not hide their people's joy and said the Chairman and Governor are God's sent to deliver them from their past predicaments.

Others who learnt their voices include Hon Monday Ajiya special adviser to the Governor on peace building and Chief of staff Jos East Local Government Hon.Ishaya Izam both commended the effort of the Chairman and the Governor for executing people oriented projects.
