Following the formal handover of the mantle of leadership at the National Centre for Remote Sensing (NCRS), Jos, the newly appointed Director and Chief Executive, Dr. Kenneth Uchua, officially assumed duty by committing the affairs of the Centre into the hands of God in a solemn “Beginning with God” prayer session held in his office.
The spiritual gathering, which brought together management staff, close associates and well-wishers, was led by his spiritual father, Rev. Father Kizito Fwogos, who offered prayers for divine wisdom, guidance and strength for the new Director as he begins his leadership of the Centre.
Among the notable guests present at the prayer session were Prof. Shiiwun Manu, Philip Mandung, Patrick Gowon, Gambo Simon, and Jeremiah Julbyen Juliet, alongside members of the Centre’s management team.
During the session, management staff took turns to pray for God’s guidance, wisdom and protection for Dr. Uchua throughout his tenure. They also pledged their loyalty, cooperation and unwavering support to the new Director in advancing the mandate of the Centre.
In their remarks, several members of the management team paid glowing tribute to Dr. Uchua’s leadership qualities, expressing confidence that his experience, dedication and vision would usher in a new phase of growth and innovation for the organisation.
Speaking shortly after the prayers, Dr. Uchua expressed deep appreciation to God, the DG NASRDA, Dr. Matthew Adepoju for his appointment, his spiritual father, Rev. Father Kizito Fwogos, Prof.Shiiwun Manu, management staff and friends for their support and presence.
He emphasized his determination to lead with integrity and purpose, stressing his commitment to excellence, teamwork and institutional progress.
Dr. Uchua further assured staff of an inclusive leadership style that would harness the collective strengths of the workforce in achieving the Centre’s objectives.
He also reiterated his resolve to align the activities of the Centre with the strategic vision of the Director-General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Olumide Adepoju, whose leadership, he noted, continues to inspire innovation and transformation across the Agency.
The “Beginning with God” ceremony marked the first official engagement of Dr. Uchua after formally taking over the leadership of the Centre last Friday, setting a tone of faith, unity and shared commitment as he begins his tenure at the helm of NCRS Jos.
