CONDOLENCE LETTER
I received with shock the sad news of the death of my dear friend and associate, Da Pam Tijah, a k a, Ashasha.
When he took ill, prayed and hoped for his recovery but the Lord chose to call him at this time and who are we to question the creator but to submit to His Supreme will.
Politics brought us together around 1991 and we have remained friends since then .
Though not educated in the western sense , his intellect was sharp and he was very resourceful and skillful . He deployed these assets to disarm political opponents. His skills were brought to bear when he was elected the chairman of the PDP, Jos South LGA in 2005. He successfully led the Party in electing Da Jonah Jang as the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for the 2007 elections and ultimately as the Governor of Plateau state.
He confounded skeptics when he resoundingly won a second term against a powerful ray of forces . The then establishment had to plead with me to prevail on him to resign on the ground that though he won squarely and had been sworn into office, there was the need to respect the zoning arrangement.
He was a dependable ally who stood by me .When he could no longer tolerate the machinations of opponents who were not willing to play by the rules , he was compelled to leave the Party. Indeed, he was a Mr fix - it who could be counted on to solve any political riddle.
He was a believer who reconciled himself with the lord Jesus Christ. He left a void which will be difficult to fill. May the lord have mercy on him and comfort the family .
Hon Edward G Pwajok, SAN, LB, KSG
